Rhoda E. Burns
MD, FAAP
Rhoda E. Burns, M.D. grew up in Spanish Fort, AL, and graduated from Fairhope High School in 1976. She attended Birmingham Southern College where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She went to medical school at the University of South Alabama. She chose to specialize in Pediatrics, because out of all the physicians, pediatricians seemed to enjoy their jobs the most. She has never regretted that decision.
Dr. Burns graduated first in her class and decided to go north for her residency training. She spent three years at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and then was ready to come home to Baldwin County. She joined Eastern Shore Children’s Clinic in 1987 and has been here ever since. She is now seeing some grandchildren of former patients.
Dr. Burns is married to Bill Passmore and they live in Silverhill. They have two girls. Lizy is married to Alan Gunn and works as a nurse at ESCC. Kate is engaged to Patrick Dickson and is completing a degree in Civil engineering.
Dr. Burns enjoys spending time with her family, especially doing outdoor activities. She is involved at Trinity Presbyterian Church, and she enjoys cooking and reading.
